Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Ahoy mateys, and welcome back to Game Buoy – where Captain Spike and his first mate, Slagkick, talk about gaming news that is maybe not on your radar but most definitely should be.
FOLLOWING UP
Captain Spike wants you to all buy Monster World 4 now. Slagkick shares about The Indoctrination Theory – A Documentary, which expands on the Podcast Pirates’ discussion from Episode 1.
OMG NEWS
– Capcom is aiming at a two and a half year development cycle for all key franchises.
– A new Castlevania game is being teased…but is it a sequel to Lords of Shadow, a new 3DS Metroidvania game…or is it a 2D Lords of Shadow spinoff?!?!?
– SEGA is unclear about the release of Anarchy Reigns in the West, which leads the Podcast Pirates to worry if we’ll see this Platinum Games brawler at all outside of its Japanese release.
DISCUSSION TOPIC
This week the Podcast Pirates do something a little different (and biased):
IN DEFENSE OF NINTENDO
A Discussion in Three Parts.
I. Looking Back at the Wii
-Highlights of the Wii
-Disappointments of the Wii
II. Outlook for E3 2012
-Popular Rumors
-What We Already Know
III. Looking Forward to Wii U
-Games We’re Excited For
-Games Nintendo Needs to Pursue
-The Prospect of Nintendo as #1
Slagkick wraps up the discussion with a Nintendo rant that he almost got into last week, but held back on. Hear him let loose on the Nintendo haters and defend the GameCube, among other things.
KOTAKU OF THE WEEK
What’s this?!?!? The Podcast Pirates do not have a LOLtaku this week, instead actually recognizing that Kotaku wrote a decent article for once. Curt Schilling’s Role-Playing Game Supposedly Needed to Sell 3 Million Copies to Not Fail manages to report the facts of this sad story that has hit the industry recently, without resorting to hyperbole or poop jokes. However, out of this tragedy, Twitter users have rallied behind the 38 Studios employees to try and help them find work.
FAREWELLS AND SHOUTOUTS
As always, Captain Spike and Slagkick invite you to e-mail them and join in the discussion on Facebook and Twitter. Shout-outs are given once again to Orange Lounge Radio and the Nerdgasm Network.
